Designed to KILL: Democrats demand that FDA cancel safety rules for abortion drug to make baby murder more accessible

To make getting an abortion in America even easier, House Democrats are badgering the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to lift safety restrictions on a baby-murdering pharmaceutical known as mifepristone (Mifeprex). Democrats on the House Oversight Committee want the FDA to allow pregnant women who wish to murder their unborn children to have mifepristone delivered right to their homes. Under normal circumstances, mifepristone must be picked up in person at a pharmacy. This in-person requirement is meant to protect women who might suffer a life-threatening reaction from taking it at home rather than at the pharmacy where medical workers are available to assist them on-demand. Ever since President Donald Trump declared the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) to be a "pandemic" last March, mifepristone has not had to be picked up at the pharmacy. Since this could soon change, Democrats are trying to get ahead of the game by making deliveries of mifepristone permanently allowable. "While doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals are exhausting medical resources, and themselves, to battle the coronavirus pandemic, Planned Parenthood and the radical pro-abortion left are using Covid-19 as an excuse to expand abortion, any way they can," says the American Center for Law & Justice (ACLJ). Recognizing that mifepristone is highly dangerous, the FDA had placed the drug under its Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) program. This changed after then-California Attorney General Xavier Becerra requested an exemption. In order to ensure that women across America "have access to critical healthcare services," Becerra and several other AGs claimed, the FDA must make it easier to access mifepristone. "The current FDA REMS create unnecessary barriers between women and abortion care, not only making it hard to find – for example, by prohibiting sale by retail or mail-order pharmacies – but also making it unappealing to prescribe," they added.

Supreme Court rules FDA can reimpose restrictions on mifepristone

Last month, the United States Supreme Court ruled in a 6-3 decision that the FDA can reinstate the safety standard for mifepristone if it so chooses. This upset the Democrat death lobby, which wants as many unborn children to die as possible. "This is not the first time the abortion lobby has attempted to weaponize the coronavirus to expand abortion access across the country," the ACLJ warns. "We told you we filed emergency amicus briefs after Planned Parenthood sued officials from the state of Texas for the state's emergency order to cease all non-essential surgeries, including elective abortions, to reduce the strain on personal protective equipment and hospital beds. Apparently Planned Parenthood values abortion over assisting medical personnel working to save COVID-19 patients at this time of unprecedented sickness and death." According to Democrat women, however, any restrictions on access to mifepristone, no matter what risks the drug poses to pregnant women, perpetuate "longstanding health inequities" that cannot be tolerated, they say. The use of mifepristone, which falls under a class of drugs known to cause "chemical abortion," has led to a sharp uptick in the number of abortions nationwide. Since the FDA first approved mifepristone back in 2000, chemical abortion rates have risen steadily. "Between 2015 and 2018, the percentage of total abortions that were chemical abortions increased from 25 percent to 40 percent," says Michael New from the National Review. "Among the 42 states that reported data on type of procedure in both 2017 and 2018, the number of chemical abortions increased by more than 10 percent." Studies show that more than three percent of women who take mifepristone end up requiring emergency room care to deal with "complications." About seven percent also "require" a follow-up surgical abortion, meaning the drug does not always "work" on its own.
