Human farming: Artificial womb facility provides glimpse of pregnancy in the future

Science has now introduced a new way to create humans, through fetuses growing in transparent and completely inhuman "growth pods" arranged like human farming operations. Artificial womb facility EctoLife put forward the concept through a video that shocked the internet and garnered almost a million views. It presented the facility, powered entirely by renewable energy, that could "grow" 30,000 babies annually. According to Yemeni filmmaker and molecular biologist Hashem Al-Ghaili, the man behind EctoLife, his concept appears to be based on more than 50 years of groundbreaking scientific research. "EctoLife allows infertile couples to conceive a baby and become the true parents of their own offspring. It is a perfect solution for women who had their uterus surgically removed due to cancer or other complications," the narrator in the video said. The pods are also "aimed to help countries suffering from population decline," such as Japan, Bulgaria and South Korea. (Related: Eugenics & population control as dominant ideologies of the 'elite.') The presentation also noted an observation by the World Health Organization (WHO) that around 300,000 women die from pregnancy complications. Al-Ghaili further argued that pregnancy can be exhausting, painful, nauseating, intrusive, inconvenient and sometimes flat-out dangerous for a mother and the baby itself. The so-called "Elite Package" would help mothers avoid these issues, and inherited genetic diseases can also be avoided. The CRISPR-Cas 9 gene editing tool would edit any trait of the baby through a wide range of over 300 genes. The pods would also be equipped with a screen that displays real-time data on the developmental progress of the baby. The data can also be viewed via a phone app. The pods would be connected to two central bioreactors. One would contain nutrients and oxygen, which would be supplied to the pods through an artificial umbilical cord and another one that would eliminate any waste products produced by the babies. Moreover, they would feature internal speakers that play a wide range of words and music for the babies. An app allows a choice of songs the baby can listen to, and the ability to sing directly to them to lets babies become familiar with their parents' voices before birth. The most unique selling point is that the birth process is done with a push of a button. "EctoLife provides a pain-free alternative that helps you deliver your baby without stress... After discharging the amniotic fluid from the artificial womb, you will be able to easily remove your baby from the growth pod. Everything is perfectly designed so you and your partner can enjoy the delivery process.

Artificial pregnancy pods could be a possibility in the next decade

Al-Ghaili believes that the technology is already available but is being held back due to ethical constraints. "Every single feature mentioned in the concept is 100 percent science-based and has already been achieved by scientists and engineers," he explained. "The only thing left is building a prototype by combining all the features into a single device." He said the time frame would highly depend on the ethical guidelines as research on human embryos is not allowed beyond 14 days right now. "If these ethical restrictions are relaxed, I give it 10 to 15 years before EctoLife becomes widely used everywhere," he said. "Add to that five years of public awareness and education to help people become more receptive to the technology." But a lot of people on the internet are terrified and appalled by the idea. "There is a deep spiritual connection between the baby and the mother during the nine months of gestation. This cannot be replicated by any machine," one commenter said. Another one said: "I shudder to think what kind of obscene atrocities were committed in order to develop this technology, which has surely been in the works secretly for many decades." "The arrogance of men is thinking nature is in our control and not the other way around," one posted quoting Godzilla character Dr. Ishiro Serizawa.
