Conservative actor, producer and director Kevin Sorbo told hosts Pastor David Scarlett and Taylor Dooley that Hollywood espouses an ideology of hypocrisy. Sorbo made this contention during the Aug. 21 episode of "HIS Glory" on Brighteon.TV. Formerly the lead star of "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" in the 1990s, Sorbo became an advocate for conservative values with his wife, former actress Sam Sorbo. "[Being] conservative and a Christian is like being a double leper in the world of Hollywood," the actor told Dooley, a former actress herself. Scarlett's co-host played the role of Lava Girl in the 2005 film "The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl." "One thing led to another when people found out that certainly, I was a Christian," Sorbo said. "My wife warned me when I said to 'get more vocal on Facebook,' [telling me that] 'They're [going to] come after you. And I said, 'Well, let them come after me.'" "Why can't Hollywood scream for, you know, freedom of speech … [or] tolerance? Why is it such a one-way street? Sure enough, my manager and agent called me, saying 'We got to part ways.'" Sorbo recounted laughing at his representative dropping him, which meant that the doors of Hollywood had closed on him. But with the grace of God, the conservative actor managed to make a comeback – this time in Christian films such as "God's Not Dead" and "Let There Be Light." "It's always nice to step out in faith for Him, because He certainly proved that He'll step out for you," Dooley said in reply. "I know from my own experience that it is very hard. It's a very difficult business." She then zeroed in on the radical Left ideology in Hollywood, which many celebrities adhere to. "It's funny and tricky how they love to preach tolerance, but the minute you're not what they say you are, [it becomes] awkward." Sorbo agreed, saying: "Their hypocrisy shows through so blatantly every single day. I mean, they are literally the [image] of 'the snake eating its own tail.'" (Related: Ricky Gervais destroys Hollywood hypocrisy at Golden Globes, calls out lying actors for fake outrage politics.)

Sorbo expresses pity toward woke bullies

Back in April 2021, Sorbo shared his thoughts on cancel culture during a PragerU interview. "You've got to be ready to bite your lip more than ever in the climate that's going on in America … [and] in the world, because you've got this woke thing, and this cancel culture where people are coming after you," he said. "[The woke mob] can tear you down for something you said 30 years ago, which is insane to me. What does it say in the Bible? 'He without sin cast the first stone.'" The "Hercules" star pointed out that he had worked with several individuals who were part of the LGBT community. "There's not one that I would say was a horrible person to work with," he continued. "But they love their labels, and it's so easy to throw labels at people. Like I said, we now live in a culture where it's 'you're guilty until proven innocent' when it used to be the other way around." Ultimately, Sorbo told Scarlett and Dooley that he felt sad for the "woke trolls" engaged in cancel culture. "They are people without God in their lives, who only have this hate and anger. [Maybe] their lives … [and] their dreams didn't turn out the way they want it to turn out. That's one way to go through life," Sorbo said. Dooley agreed. "I think it all comes down to the fact that we're in spiritual warfare. That's what culture, Hollywood, everyone pushes – this bullying," the "Shark Boy and Lava Girl" actress said. "It's not their fault they're trained to be that way in the culture we live in now." Head over to HollywoodHater.com for more stories like this.
